- Here are a few tips to ensure a successful installation
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions thoroughly
- Before installation, flush any old fluid from your system, including transmission lines, oil cooler, and torque converter to remove any contaminants that could harm your new transmission
- When installing your torque converter, follow the instructions carefully to ensure proper fitment into the transmission input shaft and also attaching to your engine. Specific tolerances are required so that you do not damage the front pump in the transmission or the converter.

Rated 3 out of5 by53Belair fromrepaired case, pan leaksI bought this trans approx 2-3 years ago... just now installing it for a long term project i have for a 1953 Belair. the bellhousing came "repaired" with JB Weld on it, i assume to cover up a crack. I just filled the trans yesterday after getting my custom driveshaft installed and the Pan leaks from the gasket flange Due to improper stamping during manufacturing... not nice since now i have to buy a proper pan, dump and loose some of my EXPENSIVE Amsoil Fluid just to repair something that shouldn't be bad to begin with. I just hope it shifts OK in a month or so when i get it on the road again.

The Jegs 555-60300 transmission does not have a torque rating, it only has an HP rating of 450.
