With the problem escalating, many fans felt the best way to get Bungie's attention was to essentially push this issue to its limits, sharing it widely to cause an even bigger disruption. While it's unknown if this method actually had the desired effect, Bungie did comment on the issues players have been experiencing, confirming that the studio is currently investigating the PONY error bug that stems from receiving Destiny 2 friend invites. Unfortunately, Bungie did not provide any sort of timeline for a fix, though a resolution is being worked on and will be released as soon as possible.
Destiny 2 Pony Error Workaround Tips
Instead of leaving it there, Bungie did attempt to provide a few workaround tips for players currently impacted by the bug. Considering the issue stems from invites, Destiny 2 players will want to tweak some options from Settings under the Social section of the game menu. As such, Destiny 2 players should try the following in the short term:
- Turn Off Friend and Destiny 2 Clan Requests
- Set Fireteam Invites to Friends Only
While this issue is certainly a pressing one for many, it isn't the only bug impacting the experience. In fact, the recently released Zero Hour exotic mission has a frustrating glitch for Destiny 2 players, locking out one of the rarer triumphs one can earn. For those who are able to complete the mission flawlessly on Legendary while solo, the singular solo flawless triumph doesn't unlock as expected, even though the individual solo and flawless triumphs are. Until a fix is released, players may want to hold off on attempting this feat or risk not being awarded.
